Swinerton is providing general contracting services for the adaptive reuse of an existing concrete building and parking lot into a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade bilingual Mandarin and English school. Renovations will include structural upgrades due to building usage change (office to school), including micro-piles, shotcrete, and foundation upgrades. The team will be upgrading the building’s existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and providing new finishes throughout the building meeting the school district’s standards. Swinerton will also self-perform all demolition, concrete, drywall, doors, frames, hardware, and millwork. At Hiba Academy, all children will be part of a vibrant multicultural community of bilingual learners. The school will provide new and diverse perspectives and teach students what it means to be a global citizen.
